Patrick Robinson EVP of Gap

The week that I quit my job at Gap I hear that Patrick Robinson is named the new EVP of design. Go figure.

Even though I will no longer have my wonderful 50% off discount (which I barely used the whole time I worked there), I excited to see what Robinson will do. It seems Robinson has found his stride desiging for mass market retail chains with his Target GO collection and I hope he gives Gap a long-overdue makeover.

Anya Hindmarch bag craze

By now everyone has surely heard/seen the Anya Hindmarc "I'm Not A Plastic Bag". An environmentally conscious person myself (I do go to school at UC Santa Cruz after all!), I'm all about finally having something cute to tote my groceries home on the bus other than my beat up Trader Joe's canvas bag.

Sooo, don't forget, tomorrow starting at 10am you can pre-order them at Ron Herman!

Paris & Nicole for Bazaar

I've been an loyal Bazaar subscriber and reader for as long as I can remember (it was my first "real" fashion magazine haha) so you can imagine how I, like so many others, was appalled when I heard of their cover choice for the June issue, tabloid queens Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie. On one hand I can understand why they did it- bottom line they sell magazines and they can reach a wider audiance. But as far as I'm concerned Paris Hilton is about as low as you can sink and if that's the best idea that the editors can come up with for gaining readers then they've lost all my respect. Thank goodness my subscription is almost over. And not only that, the cover itself is boring. I mean, Bazaar is notorious for having boring covers, but if they are going to feature two way overexposed celebrities then the least they could do is attempt to give us something we haven't seen before. I haven't seen the subscriber-only cover yet but at this point I could care less.
