Gerard Mulot, Paris

Pure macaron perfection, well worth the petit splurge. So far I've tried pistache, rose, nougat, chocolat, et framboise.

A Travel Essential

I've just recieved my brand new Moleskines in the mail from Amazon and I'm so glad I decided to order one of their new "City Notebooks". I got the Paris one as I will be spending half a year there and it is so neat. It includes all kinds of useful stuff like a metro map and size/measurements and it's perfectly organized for jotting down things like favorite restaurants or random thoughts. They make them for most of the major cities so if you are going to be spending decent time in a foreign city this summer I'd highly suggest picking one up.

Summer must-sees

My list of must see movies of the summer:

La Vie En Rose. Everything is about this movie is spectacular.

Sicko. Very well done, hilarious yet depressing, something every American should see immediately.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (however I am a bit biased towards it because I'm a huge Harry Potter book nerd)

Ratatouille! So cute, and so French. I ended up enjoying it more than my little cousins who were the ones to force me to watch it in the first place.

I'm almost all set for my trip as far as shopping and packing goes except for a comfortable, stylish pair of everyday sandals which for some reason I've had the hardest time finding. In one last, desperate search through the entire stock of Zappos's flat sandal selection I came across a couple nice pairs by, of all brands, Reef!

Phire, $58.95

Flory, $49

And at least with Reef you know they are going to be comfortable.

Alternative to the Prada headband

An affordable alternative to the Prada headband from Anthropologie. I can see myself wearing this all summer long!

Buy these now!

For anyone who is like me and lives in ballet flats, I'd suggest you get yourself to the nearest Gap store and buy multiple pairs of these now before they are gone!

Gap leather ballet flats, on sale for $24.99. I bought a pair with my discount right before I quit and now I regret not buying 3 more pairs. In fact, tomorrow I plan to go and see if there are any more left in my size because even without my discount, $25 for comfortable, cute flats that go with everything are hard to come by.

Patrick Robinson EVP of Gap

The week that I quit my job at Gap I hear that Patrick Robinson is named the new EVP of design. Go figure.

Even though I will no longer have my wonderful 50% off discount (which I barely used the whole time I worked there), I excited to see what Robinson will do. It seems Robinson has found his stride desiging for mass market retail chains with his Target GO collection and I hope he gives Gap a long-overdue makeover.
